Installation

Windows — Microsoft Store

Coming Soon — ControlNav will be available on the Microsoft Store.

Once available:

  1. Open the Microsoft Store app on Windows
  2. Search for ControlNav
  3. Click Get or Install
  4. ControlNav will start automatically after installation — look for its icon in the system tray

First Launch

  1. ControlNav starts and shows its icon in the system tray (bottom-right)
  2. A welcome dialog explains the basic features (shown only on first launch)
  3. The global shortcut Ctrl+Alt+L is registered and ready to use

Quick Start

  1. Open any application (e.g. Notepad, your browser, or a game)
  2. Press Ctrl+Alt+L — the ControlNav window appears
  3. Start typing to search for a control by name
  4. Use arrow keys to select a control
  5. Press Enter to interact with it
  6. Press Escape to close ControlNav

Auto-Start (Optional)

To have ControlNav start automatically with Windows:

  1. Right-click the system tray icon
  2. Select Settings
  3. Check Start with Windows
  4. Click OK

System Requirements

  • Windows 10 version 1809 or later (64-bit)
  • Screen reader optional but recommended: JAWS, NVDA, or Windows Narrator

Uninstall

Uninstall via Settings → Apps or the Microsoft Store app. All settings stored in the Windows Registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ControlNav will be removed automatically.
